With Prometheus being released this week on DVD and Blu-ray, I had to say something about Noomi Rapace. Playing her character in the film, Elizabeth Shaw, a young scientist, was nothing short of spectacular. I went to the theater to watch this flick all by myself and I admit I didn’t think the film was mind-blowing all the way through, but Noomi brought it where it needed to be and where it should have been.

I had no idea who she was before Prometheus yet I had already seen The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo as well as Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Both movies were fantastic, as was Noomi. She really impressed me, to the point where I’d say that she’s become my favorite actress today. I enjoyed the Alien franchise in my younger days and was curious to see how Prometheus would play out. Without Noomi, I don’t think it would have had the spark it needed. I hope she has a bright future in film and am anxious to see her in Prometheus 2 and beyond!
